“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up!”  Daniel‬ ‭3‬:‭ 17, 18‬ ‭AMP‬‬

I find it really easy to live in the “what if”.

What if I had done something different? What if the outcome had just been a little bit better? What if I had prayed just a little bit harder? What if I could go back and do it again?

It actually makes me go kind of crazy with the questions.

I think I needed this reminder to live in the “EVEN IF”

Those 3 hebrews boys had such faith that the Lord could rescue them.  But they said “even if He doesn’t.” They were still going to be obedient to the Lord Our God.

I want to be like that.   I want to remain steadfast in the the midst of trial.   I need to retrain my brain to say, “Lord EVEN IF you don’t, I will praise you and only you”.  I’ll have to be remolded to say “Lord EVEN IF you don’t, I know you’re still faithful.”

I want the people around me to know that “ Lord EVEN IF you don’t,  I will remain faithful to you.”

Because our faith in the Lord isn’t something that should require receiving something.  We already received enough when He sent His Son. Our relationship with the Lord is faith in His goodness and in his track record, not in what he can provide based off of our whims or whining.

Lord, help us to be “EVEN IF” minded and not “what if” minded.
