Most of us know that our Walk with Jesus comes at a price. Nothing that we can pay but everything that He has already paid. In Matthew, Christ lays out some direct words, an insight that our walk with Him may take something.

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Matthew 16:24-26

Deny ourselves, take up our cross, looses his life. Yes, yes, and yes. When we understand those words we understand that to be a Disciple is to walk, talk, act, and think like the Teacher.

Easier said than done, I catch myself from time to time being a little more like Brad and a little less like Christ. How we overcome those moments is in full surrender, placing it under the Blood and giving it all to God.

Through His sacrifice we are able to walk through life knowing that He is for us. Give it a try this week, whatever may be holding you back, pick up Your Cross and know Christ is helping you carry the weight.
