“When Pilate gave permission, Joseph of Arimathea came and took the body away.  With him came Nicodemus, the man who had come to Jesus at night.  He brought 75 pounds of perfumed ointment made from myrrh and aloes.”  John 19:39

Nicodemus...

Remember Nicodemus?  He was a religious leader, member of the Jewish high council.   He believed in what Jesus said and taught.  He came at night though to see Jesus for fear of being publicly exposed as a follower of this very controversial Jesus. When we see him next though, he is no longer afraid to be associated with Jesus in public.  He joined Joseph of Arimathea in asking Pilate for Jesus’ body to anoint and lay in the tomb.  Nicodemus made a bold move!   He was continuing to grow!  He was continuing his walk and living out his salvation, learning about, relying on, trusting in the One that had been prophesied about would come and who Nicodemus believed in as Messiah.  “God looks for steady growth, not instant perfection.”  May we continue to be on the learning curve even if we have been walking in His grace for a long time, that we may grow bolder and more humble, more faithful, more compassionate, to be holy as He is holy.  Depending on Holy Spirit and growth is key!
