“In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.””
John 5:17
God is always at His work! These aren’t my words they are the words of Jesus. I think it is important for us to realize this truth about God, that He is always working. But what do you think He is working on? Scripture makes it clear that what God is working on is you and I. Philippians 1:6 tells us that God is working to complete the “Good work” He has started in you and I. Romans 8:28 tells us that God is making all things work together for the good of those that love Him. God is always working on our behalf. He is working in our hearts to help us become more like Him. He is also working through our circumstances to make them work towards our good. To me this means that if I am obedient to God, there will be a process happening in my life that is controlled by God to help me grow closer to Him. This process will not always be something that I understand or enjoy, but it will always be in God’s control and for my good. This we know according to scripture. For me to continue to stay in this process I need to be obedient and to trust that is in control. This is not always easy for me, because I want to be in control. And I don’t think I’m the only one that struggles with this need to be in control, we all do. Part of maturing as Christian is learning to trust God’s process in our life. This isn’t suppose to be easy, it’s supposed to be for our good. God is always working, and you and I are what He is working on. He wants the best for you and I and He is working to bring it about in our hearts and in our lives.
Remember God is in control and He is working for your good. Trust that He has a plan for you. It is our part in His plan to be obedient to scripture and to seek for His will. When we do our part we can always trust that God will do His part because He loves you and is working to help you be the best version of yourself.
