John 4:4-39. The Samaritan woman at the well. This passage has many profound moments in it. Both with Christ’s interaction with the woman and with His own disciples. Jesus went to Samaria on purpose, because Samaria was a place that He should not have been according views at that time. Yet, Jesus still went to be with the people who were viewed as ‘bottom feeders’ as they also need healing and need the power of Christ in their lives. This is what Christ has called us to, the hurting and needy despite their class or economic status. Most of the people with Jesus missed the point.

He wants Christians to be sources of Hope to the community that surrounds them, but further He wants us to stand in the gap for hurting people on this earth and BE THE BRIDGE rather than build it. Christians are called to be compassionate to the ‘least of these in the same way that Christ was to the people of His time.

Whether that is the building of a physical bridge on the church property or building new and/or stronger relationships with the surrounding community, 2017 is going to be a historic year for HWWC in God’s Kingdom
