Honor Sunday at Nike Park

A community event designed to honor our first responders, held at Nike Park in Carrollton Virginia. Congratulations to the Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department on bringing home the trophy in our obstacle course events.

God Never Said That: Happiness

Earthly happiness cannot violate our holiness in front of God. We were created to worship and be holy in Gods sight. We must be righteous and from that foundation we can find true happiness on Earth, but also in Heaven. We spend a good portion of our time on earth chasing distractions (the idols of earthly happiness), and not trying to be righteous in God’s sight.

Underestimating our Adversary

I Peter 5:8 talks of how the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking those he can destroy. He has been doing this for over 6000 years or at least since before the beginning of history. Most modern Christians find themselves unfit and out of shape, under prepared, and unaware of the devils activity. We tend to under estimate the devil and over estimate our faith.

How do we see ourselves vs ho God sees us? Our view in tainted by the enemy who works through our own minds and through the influence of others in our lives. God has a different view of us and that is the same view we need to adopt and recognize in order for God to work in our lives. Remember Satan aims to defeat us and God will not allow that to happen if we trust in Him
